Ever think about to run your own IRCD? I guess the irc addicted people might think to run by their own because they can be netadmin and set everything such as rules and network structure.

If you are really new to IRCD setup, I guess you would choose IRCD account instead of IRC-enabled VPS. From my experince, VPS is the better choice. Here are some of my opinion why VPS is better than IRCD account:

• You have root access
• You can install what application you want if it’s allowed in provider’s TOS
• You might be able to run as many process as you want, it depends on your VPS memory
• Setup your own webserver, mysql and other application you want bla bla.. even it has only 64MB RAM
